Vital Edge Optimization exists because of a gap we kept running into from opposite sides of medicine: a trauma surgeon who saw how reactive and rushed modern healthcare had become, and a human performance and nutrition specialist who saw how much of the wellness industry was selling confidence without credentials. We built Vital Edge to be the thing neither of us could find elsewhere.

How we’re built
Vital Edge is led by Wade Dunlap, MD, FACS — a board-certified general and trauma surgeon bringing two decades of real clinical decision-making to every protocol — and Liz Dunlap, MS — a human performance and nutrition specialist who built the coaching, nutrition, and client experience side of the practice from the ground up.
Between us, medicine and performance aren’t separate departments handed off to each other. They’re one plan, built together.

Where we practice
Vital Edge currently serves members in Texas, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Wisconsin — the states where Dr. Dunlap holds active medical licensure. If you’re outside these states, you’re welcome to join our waitlist as we pursue additional licensure.
